The popularity of a hot dog “fried
in its own bun” in the form of a
corn meal-based batter is still quite
popular. Some of the busiest fun
spots and major fair midways are
these deep fried Corn Dog stands!
Today, you can make Regular
length or “Foot Long” Corn Dogs.
The best way to cook Corn Dogs
is in a Gold Medal Fryer. When
you use the Skewer Clip Assembly
with handle (#8054H shown on page
58), skewer your hot dogs – making
sure that you have rolled them on a
paper towel so they are dry. Place
seven in the skewer slip assembly,
dip in the tank and then hook over
the edge of the Fryer. Always use
a high Wattage fryer, if possible.
The #8047D, 115 Volt fryer should
be operated with only one Skewer
Clip Assembly. The “recovery”
rate is too slow for more. Our hot
dog clips are designed for the 51/2"
(14 cm) wood stick or Setterstix. If
you use smaller sticks, you will need
a special tighter skewer clip – we can
furnish these.
“Colossal”…“Magic”…”Bloomer”…
you name it!
This is the Giant Onion that
is cut, battered and “opens up” when it
hits the 375Þ cooking oil in a King 9 Fryer.
Here is the “Flowerin’ Onion” cutter. Start
with a Colossal Size onion – follow
instructions – cut most of what you’ll
need for the day’s sales – then batter/bread
and deep fry. Normal food cost varies
according to the scarcity of Colossal Size
onions – Retail is $5.00 or more. A very
profitable item.

Onion Blossom and Corn Dog Supplies

#5116 Dipsy Dog Mix Dipsy Dog is
convenient. It’s packed in 5 lb. cartons,
six per case. Dipsy Dog is considered a
“sweet” mix – preferable to one that
tastes just like “Corn Meal deep fried”.
Of course, this mixes with water. The
most important thing is that it will
adhere to the hot dog once you dip it
and as you put it into the hot cooking
oil.
#5117 Pronto Pup Mix
Packed only
in 50 lb. bags, there is a certain group
who prefers this mix. It’s a little less
sweet. Naturally, 50 lbs. is not a great
deal of product if you are running a
busy Corn Dog operation. It’s not
uncommon for a high volume operator
to use over 200 lbs. of mix per week.

#8073 King 9 Fryer for Flowerin’
Onions and French Fries #8073BF
King 9 Fryer with 2" (5 cm) cold
zone for battered chicken and other
battered products

The “King 9” is a great fryer for
Flowerin’ Onions. Cook surface is
152/3" x 153/4" (40 x 40 cm). Oil depth
not over 8" (20 cm) for French Fries,
Onions or other foods that contain a
lot of moisture. Outside dimensions,
171/4" x 171/2"” (44 x 44 cm). 230 Volts
only, 5500 Watts.
#8074 Powerhead Only
also available.
5500 Watt power head is available for
those who build up own fry tank and
wish to have electric power heads.
#8073BF Battered King 9 Fryer
- With
a slight variation in the tubular heating
element. It looks the same as a #8073.
However, the heating element stays
about two inches off the bottom of the
fry tank – less when you do battered
chicken or other battered pork loins etc.,
there is room, for the excess batter to get
down into the cold zone. This prolongs
your cooking oil pot life.
