Caramel Corn Stoves
The “Canoe Paddle” Method
Gas or Electric Stoves Copper
or Aluminum Kettles
The “hand mixed” or “canoe
paddle” method of making
Caramel Corn is time
consuming – it’s hard work –
it requires a little more skill
than the “Corntreat Automatic”
method. Gold Medal Caramel
Corn Stoves are great to start.
A 19" (48 cm) diameter kettle
with a 2" (50 cm) handle on
either side uses the same linear
space as the #2175 Cooker Mixer.
Use concentrated Corntreat Mix
(page 20). Either the gas or electric
will take 30 to 45 minutes per batch
in a copper kettle, or a little under
30 minutes in an aluminum kettle.
Yes, the aluminum kettle cooks
faster! It’s an inexpensive set-up
to start with, since the open kettle
method requires constant
observation and supervision, it’s
smart to trade up to a Corntreat
Machine once you discover how
well fresh-made Caramel Corn sells!
